Have spent too much time on this already, so I think I can call this one done! It may not be "finished," but it IS done! [Until I fiddle again.] No, no more fiddling. It "feels" better than the two previous posts. Another opportunity for growth! Onto the next. Maybe I can knock one out tonight, now that I have worked out the bugs ... sort of.

I love it!The colors are great and so is the texture.
Love that orange sky! I always love pines against a sunset. This is good and you should stop obsessing about it! :)
Bless you, Barb,
Your support and kind words go a long way! I am just about ready to gesso the d**n thing. Indeed it still doesn't work for me. And, to top it off, it wasn't accepted in the show I painted it for. So, on to the next! I need to post soon, and get back in the groove!
Dee - I experienced rejection in an art show last month - one of my vintage trucks was rejected - the juror accepted one and rejected the other - this was hard for me because I thought the one that was rejected was better than the one accepted. The juror's comments were that she thought it was a stronger show not to have two of the same subject from the same artist. I am not sure I agree with that - would she have accepted it from another artist? Galleries will tell you that it is best to have a 'body' of work in a similar style...hard to understand this show stuff! Eh?
and...judging is such a subjective thing, too. This same painting won a blue ribbon this summer at another show. We artists have to have strong shoulders! :)
